Chambourcin Spring and Serenity Farm IEA team
South Central Pa. welcomes new IEA team. Two local riding barns have collaborated to provide an incredible riding opportunity for young riders in South Central Pa. Serenity Farm of Bernville, Pa. owned by Erika Kurtz and Chambourcin Spring Farm of Lebanon, Pa. owned by Jamie Cikovic, will partner to create a new IEA team for the 2016-2017 season. The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) allows local middle and high school aged riders to participate in team equestrian events. The team will be competing in Hunt Seat discipline. Erika Kurtz is the riding insructor for the team, who is a lesson insructor at both barns and also a Findlay University equestrain studies graduate.
What is so special about this program? IEA allows these young horse enthusiasts to participate in events without having to own a horse. The team visits a hosting barn which provides the rider with a day long experience using varied horses and ponies. All events accommodate riders of all skill levels and take place monthly during the school year (Fall-Spring) season. (Courtesy S. Krieger)
We currenlty have 12 riders, but are still actively seeing new members.
